< Go Back Celebrating 25 Years as Dorchesters local, independent, family run estate agency. We are celebrating twenty five years as a local independent family run estate agency. In 1992 the average house price, according to the Nationwide, was around £53,000 having dropped since 1991, the best selling car was the Ford Escort and Bryan Adams had the biggest selling single with '(Everything I Do), I Do It For You.
In 1992 we registered applicants on cards and had boxes on our desks, we still have 'boxes' but they now have screens and keyboards, emailing details was unheard of, as were property websites, in fact Rightmove was still eight years away. Now nearly everyone seems to use the web to search for property, hence our support of Rightmove , Zoopla & OnTheMarket along with the Dorset Echo & Dorchester Life
We posted details and rang people at home as most of us weren't using mobile phones, most details were either black and white or had one colour photo stuck on to photocopied details, floorplans and full colour particulars didn't exist.
If you were home hunting you would rely on the paper and walking around the agents and then receiving particulars in the post. Now you can get email alerts from property portals and flick through properties on a handheld device, back then that would have seemed so very SyFy.
What hasn't changed is the Dickinson Bowden desire to give the highest quality of service, we embrace the changes technology and the market have brought, however we still like it when clients come in to see us, time is one thing that everyone says they don't have enough of and time is just one of many things we like to give our clients.
Dickinson Bowden, Service You Deserve from People you Trust for Twenty Five Years and onwards.
